Lip liners, I find, are one of those beauty products that everyone has in their make up collection but rarely gets used. Which I think is a great shame. I think lip liners are so underrated as a lip product – I use them all the time on their own to create a matte lip as well as using them under lipstick to make it last longer.
I know its often seen as a bit of a fuss to apply lip liner but I really don’t get that. Its often quicker for me to colour in my lips with lip liner than trying to perfect a lip stain before it ruins my face for the day.
So my latest lip liner is the Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner in 140 Intense Pink. And wow, oh wow, it’s a good’un.
First off, the colour. The Intense Pink is just that – intense! It is very pigmented, a deep dusky rose colour which suits my skin tone perfectly. If I’m going for the English Rose look, this will feature every time! Also, now we’re in October I can give up on summer colours and head into my favourite autumnal fall shades – this being one of them!
This lip liner also has excellent staying power, it lasts hours on my lips and because it is a pencil it takes no time at all to top up if I accidentally eat it off with my sandwich… Also, used under lip gloss or lipstick, this lip liner really does extend the life of your top product. I use Intense Pink with Rimmel’s Apocalips in Aurora (my favourite shade!) and its just beautiful.
Finally, this gem of a product is only £3.99! An absolute steal!
